TELSP - Toruń Economic and Legal Summer Program

The Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management and the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland, are pleased to welcome applications for the 1st edition of the TELSP program. TELSP is an opportunity for students to lead a 4-week-long summer research project in one of the following areas:

• management
• economics
• business and administration
• finance
• accounting
• logistics
• communication and psychology in business
• comparative constitutional law
• medical law
• insurance law
• human rights and bioethics
• tax law
• new technologies and their impact on criminal procedure
• international and EU public and private law

For each participant we will offer the student housing in Toruń and a daily allowance of 50 PLN (~12 euro), which are more than sufficient to cover the living costs during the stay in Poland.

Advanced undergraduate students from all countries are encouraged to send applications for the summer program before May 15th, 2021, 14:00 CET - for details, see *application*.

Program

The main component of the summer program is an active participation in the selected research project offered by the staff members of the Nicolaus Copernicus University, please see the topics and their descriptions below. Interested students are welcome to contact possible advisors for more details concerning the foreseen projects and discuss the dates that the project could be undertaken.

This year's TSSP novelty is that the NCU student can join each project! The decision to join a student of our university is made individually by the trainee's tutor.

Apart from the projects, once a week we will organize an invited lecture and a lunch or dinner for the entire group. We will also offer short trips / sightseeing in the Toruń area on selected weekends. All students will be asked to give 15-minute presentations about the results of their projects at the end of their stay in Toruń.

Application

Students accepted in 2020 will complete an internship in 2021. Recruitment will start on April 19 this year for new students willing to participate in TSSP.

We kindly ask all interested students to provide us with the following information in English:

1. Application form;
2. Curriculum Vitae (max. 4 pages);
3. Motivation letter (max. 1 page);
4. The title(s) of the project(s) they would like to contribute to;
5. Consent to personal data processing.
6. Optional: letter of recommendation, e.g. from their scientific advisor, staff member from their institute, former internship advisor, etc.

Complete applications should be send to telsp [at] umk.pl before the deadline of May 15th, 2021, 14:00 CET. The results of the selection procedure will be announced by May 21st, 2021.

Housing

Students will be offered single occupancy rooms in the dormitories of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
