TABMED 2024 Toruń and Bydgoszcz Medical Summer Program

The Ludwik Rydygier Collegium Medicum of the Nicolaus Copernicus University (Bydgoszcz, Poland), is pleased to welcome applications for the 5th edition of the TABMED program. TABMED is an opportunity for students interested in medical and pharmaceutical sciences to lead a 4-week-long summer research project in one of the following areas:

Program

The main component of the summer program is an active participation in the selected medical and pharmaceutical research project offered by the staff members of the Collegium Medicum, please see the topics and their descriptions below. Interested students are welcome to contact possible advisors for more details concerning the foreseen projects and discuss the dates that the project could be undertaken. The NCU students can join to each project.

Apart from the projects, once a week we will organise an invited lecture and a lunch or dinner for the entire group. We will also offer short trips / sightseeing in the Bydgoszcz area on selected weekends. All students will be asked to give 15-minute presentations about the results of their projects at the end of their stay in Bydgoszcz.

Application

We kindly ask all interested students to provide us with the following information in English or Polish:
  1. Application form; (closed)
  2. Curriculum Vitae (max. 4 pages);
  3. Motivation letter (max. 1 page) containing the title(s) of the project(s) they would like to contribute to
  4. Consent to personal data processing.
  5. Optional: letter of recommendation, e.g. from their scientific advisor, staff member from their institute, former internship advisor, etc.
  6. Proof of student status.

Complete applications should be send to tabmed [at] umk.pl before the deadline of April 14th, 2024, 14:00 CET. The results of the selection procedure will be announced on the 29th of April, 2024. (See results.)

Housing

For each participant, we will offer the student housing in Bydgoszcz and a daily allowance of 70 PLN (~15 euro), which is sufficient to cover the living costs during the stay in Poland.

Students will be offered single or double occupancy rooms in the dormitories of the Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz, located at the walking distance to the Antoni Jurasz University Hospital No. 1 in Bydgoszcz.
